About Our Farm
We are a small farm in the Hamlet of Beavercreek Oregon. We purchased our first Myotonic goats, also known as 'Fainting Goats', three years ago and totally fell in love with them. We also share our farm with Rare Breed Chickens, Red Golden and Lady Amherst Pheasants, and Angora rabbits. All of these we breed. We have our other animals that we love but do not breed. All of our goats are registered with the Myotonic goat registry. Our sheep are registered with the Miniature Southdown Sheep registry and the Yorkies are registered with AKC. Our animals fill our lives with so much love and enjoyment. Each one of them are special. We hope that you will enjoy your visit at our site. Check out our 2010 babies that are for sale on our sale page.
We are Proud Members of the Myotonic Goat Registry!

About
Myotonic Goats
People call Myotonic goats by many different names which include
Nervous Goats, Wooden-leg Goats, Scare Goats, Fainting Goats and
Tennessee Fainting Goats.
These goats have a muscle condition that is called Myotonia
Congenita. This condition causes an overall increased muscle mass which
means that these goats are very lean and muscular when compared to other
goat breeds.
Myotonic goats are very friendly. They are easy kidders (have
easy births). Another thing that I appreciate is that they are easy on
fencing.
The large and medium size goats are usually used for meat
production and the smaller sizes are used as pets. Our herd is all
pets.
The Myotonic goat's coat comes in many colors and lengths. Many of
these goats grow a lot of cashmere in the winter.
there are degrees of stiffness in the Myotonic goats and are rated
1-6.
1: Being not stiff or not seen as stiff
2: Very rarely stiffens and never falls
3: Occasionally gets stiff but rarely falls over
4: Walks normally but the back legs lock up but rarely falls over
5: Walks relatively normal but somewhat stiff in the back legs and a
swivel in the hip. Readily stiffens when startled.
6: Animal always moves stiffly to some degree, usually always locks
up when startled.
In my opinion you could not own an animal that is more interesting,
fun and loving. I could not imagine not having them in my life. They
are wonderful pets.
